Smart devices like Amazon Echo, Apple, IKEA, and of course, Google, all use Zigbee. But what is it? And what does this smart home technology actually do?
Apple, Amazon, and Google have come together to come up with a united connectivity standard based on ZigBee.
But what exactly is ZigBee? Zigbee is a protocol used to connect smart devices like lights, plugs, and smart locks to a home network. You can use this home network as-is with remote controls.
It’s a wireless technology developed as an open global standard and provides the foundation for IoT with features to support low-cost, highly reliable networks for device-to-device communication.
This is an introductory course on the ZigBee Protocol. You’ll learn all the concepts behind the ZigBee protocol and its features and will also implement 3 mini projects and 2 major projects using the ZigBee Boards, Raspberry Pi, and the ESP32, across various operating modes, firmware types and network topologies.
