Overview

A school will naturally see and teach children with different social, educational, religious and cultural backgrounds. Encouraging children within school settings to embrace each other’s differences will shape those children into more accepting and tolerating individuals in future and a teacher/teaching assistant has to take necessary measures to promote them adequately. If you are a teaching assistant or are aspiring to be one, enrolling in this Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at QLS Level 3 Certificate in Teaching Assistant course that talks about promoting a diverse learning environment will come a long way in your career.

This course realises the importance of promoting equality, inclusion and diversity in schools from day one and will educate you on all related aspects of it. Once you get into terms with the current legislation and codes of practice relevant to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, the course will help you understand the ways in which to interact with children and young people, so they feel accepted and valued irrespective of their background.

This course will also explore the scenarios in which a child or young person can experience prejudice or discrimination and the ways in which this can be prevented and tackled. You will also come to understand the impact of discrimination and prejudice on children and young people and the ways in which, you as an individual and as a teaching assistant, can challenge it.
